I purchased this set for my new apartment about six months ago, and I absolutely love it. I agree with what everyone else has written, the styling is casual but still sophisticated enough for parties and the like. As for the person who wrote that the silverware bends when taking on such things as ice cream straight from the freezer... this has not been my experience, but perhaps the solution is to use the correct tool for the job (in that case, an ice cream scoop instead of a teaspoon?). I have not been disappointed in this set at all, I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.

Oneida brand flatware is very deceptive. They have been generally known as a quality brand, but over the past few years, they have marketed lower priced, lower quality flatware. Unfortunately, this is one of them. I purchased this set for college a few years ago and it defintiely did not last the test of time.
I really liked the look of the "Flight" set and thought that Oneida would be a quality brand. However, the flatware is very thin and light and were not heavy duty at all. They reminded me of cafeteria quality flatware...not something at a nice restaurant. Whenever I used them on anything that produced a little bit of resistance (like ice cream right out of the freezer), the flatware had a tendency to bend. Yes, that's right. BEND. Over the course of a few years, the spoons and knives were the hardest hit and some do look very warped. Every now and then I try to re-bend them back to the way they were, but alas it just doesn't look the same.
I recently purchased the Lenox Butler's Pantry 45-Piece Flatware Set and am much happier with this purchase.

I have had this pattern for years. It is very sturdy and heavy. Even the highest critic (my husband) likes the sturdiness of the flatwear. It hasn't lost any of it's luster, and still looks great after close to ten years of use. None of my pieces are "warped" from bending when being used. To me, this is the most important feature of flatwear... it's sturdiness.
I really think this is one of Oneida's best patterns. While simple, it has a flair to it. It isn't a pattern you will see in everyone else's kitchen. It is unique in that way. I will often take a fork with my lunch to work, and I never have any problems identifying very quickly which fork is mine after everything has gone through the dishwasher.
I have just recently purchased a set for my Dad who was complaining that his forks weren't sturdy enought. My Mom bought him a new set (from elsewhere -- and not Oneida) and he is still complaining. So... a service for 4 is his one of his Christmas presents. I know that it is kind of an odd Christmas present, but I KNOW he will like it and get good use out of. I also bought the service for 8 for my own household. With three kids, pieces seem to go missing for no apparent reason, and of course -- NO ONE knows where they are. LOL :)
High recommended!! A great product.
